Following the publication of the Report of the Expert Group on the Judgment in A,B and C v Ireland, Choice Ireland has called on the Government to act immediately on the options set out in the report.
Spokesperson Stephanie Lord said:
“It is obvious from the options set out in the Report that the Government are left with no option now but to legislate to provide lawful abortions for women where they have life threatening conditions. The Government did not need an Expert Group to tell them this but now that they have, it should be acted on immediately.
Speaking in advance of this week’s Dáil debate on legislation for the X Case, Choice Ireland called for cross-party support for the motion tabled by Sinn Féin calling on the government to introduce immediate legislation.

Speaking after the Dáil passed a motion to establish the Constitutional Convention this week, Choice Ireland Spokesperson Stephanie Lord, called on the Convention to examine the issue of Article 40.3.3° of the Constitution which legally prohibits abortion in Ireland, subject to the terms of the X Case.
